The Daniel Boone Silent Flyers club was first chartered by the AMA in 1977. The purpose of the club was to have a secure and large flying field to fly R/C Sailplanes. We also wanted to be able to host AMA sanctioned contests.
The location is a field on the property of the Daniel Boone Homestead in Birdsboro, PA. Only members of the Daniel Boone Silent Flyers club may use the field except when having sanctioned contests or invited guests to club contests. All members must be AMA members for insurance purposes.
Only quiet airplanes may be flown at this field, no gas powered or electric powered airplanes with the exeption of using electric power to launch a sailplane up to altitude instead of a winch. Small free-flights without engines are also acceptable.
Membership is $5.00 initiation fee, no dues after that. We earn money for the club by hosting AMA sanctioned contests. Visit our Contact Page for more information.
